National Night Out

Target partners with the National Association of Town Watch to be the exclusive national sponsor of National Night Out (NNO).  This is a national program with one-of-a-kind neighborhood outreach that brings people together in support of safer communities.  Target proudly partners with communities to support NNO by attending events, providing volunteers, awarding grants and donating giveaways.  In recent years, NNO has grown to join more than 35 million people together in more than 13,000 neighborhoods across the country.

NNO is designed to:
-Heighten crime and drug prevention through awareness
-Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs
-Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships
-Send a message to criminals, letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Most recently, our event was held at Greenvale Park in the Town of Poughkeepsie.  Many members of the Town of Poughkeepsie Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association purchased food and members volunteered their time to support the event, serving food and drinks to the attendee’s.  In addition, several local business donated food and drinks, services, entertainment and other supplies.  Attractions at the event included a K-9 Demo, Bounce Houses, clown, pony rides, dunking booth, Arlington Fire Department Smoke House display, police car displays, Child ID, prizes and vendors.
